Wisdom teeth (or “eights”) are the teeth at the very back counting eight teeth back from your front tooth. Some people do not get them at all! In others the can start coming through at 17 and it is not uncommon to have them erupt at 30+ years of age.

Wisdom teeth are often difficult to extract and may be impacted. A large called an OPG may be needed to show them in the jaw in relation to neighboring teeth and nerves.
